Frequently Asked Questions

How much is therapy?

Sessions are $250. Payments can be made via cash, check, credit card, FSA accounts, Chase Quickpay, or Zelle. I will provide monthly bills for your insurance and financial records. All financial statements are also made available to you via a HIPAA-compliant website that I will provide.

Are you conducting virtual or in-person sessions?

Sessions are conducted virtually and in person. Virtual sessions are conducted via Doxy (for individual sessions) and Zoom (for parent sessions). Both web platforms are HIPAA Compliant.

In-person sessions are held at 77 Bleecker Street, Suite C-111, New York, NY 10012

How long is each therapy session?

Sessions are held weekly and are 45 minutes in length. I also offer the option of conducting more than one session a week.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is a 24-Hour cancellation policy (excluding weekends and holidays). If a cancellation occurs within 24 hours, you are responsible for the full fee of the session. Please note that your health insurance does not reimburse you for cancellations.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. This means that your insurance company will cover a portion of the fee. The portion is dictated by your insurance plan. I will provide you with paperwork for your insurance company so you're able to obtain out-of-network reimbursement.

Please check with your insurance company prior to sessions to confirm your out-of-network coverage for outpatient behavioral health. The CPT code you may be asked to provide is 90834. Your insurance company will confirm if you have met your deductible and the amount for your co-insurance (your portion of the payment).

Being an out-of-network provider means I get to spend more time focused on each person. It also serves to protect confidential information from being shared with insurance companies.

What can I expect from the consultation process?

For Adults, I conduct 2 consultations, each lasting 45 minutes. The initial session is designed to better understand your needs and goals for therapy. Over the course of the consultation process, I aim to learn as much as I can about your presenting challenges, family history, relationships, and previous therapies. At the end of the consultation, you will be given feedback on themes/patterns that emerged and a recommendation for treatment.

For Children and Adolescents, I conduct an initial 45-minute parent session. Here, we discuss your current concerns and your child or adolescent's developmental history. It is followed by 2 consultation sessions with your child. A final parent consultation is done to present my observations. Together, we agree on a course of treatment that works best for your child or teen.

How long will therapy take?

The length of treatment is guided by a variety of factors, including the severity and duration of the problem and the frequency of sessions.

What is your approach?

I bring a collaborative, non-judgmental approach, grounded in respect and curiosity. A psychodynamic and relational orientation guides my thinking. The aim of psychodynamic therapy is to help people understand their true, deep-rooted feelings in order to resolve them. It proposes that there are issues and emotions that are outside of our awareness. Having a fuller, more informed understanding of your mind translates into an ability to make choices that are healthier and more in line with your goals.

A relational lens focuses on the different relationships in your life, past and present. These relationships often shape how we view ourselves and others. This approach is helpful for individuals who experience distress from their family, parental, intimate, professional, and/or social relationships. It explores how past relationships shape individuals and their patterns of relating to others. It takes into account factors, such as race, class, culture, and gender, and how they relate to the relationships in a person's life and their sense of self.
